Arijiju lies in the Lewa Borana Conservancy, a vast private game reserve spanning 90,000 acres in Laikipia, which rolls from Mount Kenya, across the equator and up to the semi-desert plains of the north. Laikipia is home to one of the country’s largest elephant populations, and holds the most mammals in East Africa: from Cheetah and lions, to giraffes and the iconic black and white rhino. The Lewa Borana Conservancy provides a vital wildlife corridor between Mount Kenya and the Northern wilderness.
